Sharp rejected the report.
Editor: LG is the leading supplier for Apple’s Retina display – at least until 2013. With Sharp’s sensibility to pull out and focus on LCD displays (especially their IGZO – Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide technology, which is rumored to be used in new Apple products), their current drop in share prices may signify a good time to invest in Sharp. Notable Sharp investors are Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd (Foxconn) & potentially Apple is rumored to invest $1B into Sharp’s LCD plants (Reuters)
