I have 6 hotway unit's, i convert all my movies to avi and they work great, with one exception, some original dvd's that i backed up to it will not play back sound with image..... but 9/10 work great, I had a shitty hard drive in it when i bought it and it wouldnt do anything. I put a Western Digital hard drive in it, and everything much better now. (with exception to sound on some avi's) I haven't upgraded or anything. Cheers.

i can not find the Storage memory any where.
i think it would be worth it if it has at least 250GB

The one I have has played .avi's well, except for some from one source where it plays the first few seconds then restarts. I am trying the DivX Converter to see if recoding will help.

This box has done fine with most .avi's for me - there are now a few (all from one source) where the first few seconds play and then it starts over. I am trying the DivX converter to recode them and see if they will play after that.

I bot one recently and the remote was not working. Manufacturer decided to ignore my emails so had to put it away :(
Not sure this brand was the good choice.
I then bot another mediaplayer (Abigs by Sarotech) which works perfectly for me

I seem to be having a problem with some files for the video output as well, not sure which but it plays some AVIs but not all. It says the firmware is easily upgradable, how is this done?

This is great... Plays all my videos and does everything it says it will... I bought one today in Thailand... (The HDD MUST be formatted to FAT32 and NOT NTFS... this may be where some people are having issues, and of course being FAT32 means that DVDs over 4 Gigs can't be played and even smaller DVDs will have problems, but plays every other single file video format just great for me...

I'm not sure if I can speak for the manufacturer, but AVI/DIVX/XVID files does work on my Hotway.

I'm not sure if this product can support divx movies. All other files it can support, jpg, mp3s... i'm trying to run it on the avi movies. there's an error that it cannot support the resolution :( too bad...
