Editor: This is what is standing between my iPhone 4 and Redsn0w :)
The iPhone Dev Team has just released the third beta version of Redsn0w 0.9.7 to convert tethered jailbreak of iOS 4.2.1 to untethered on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 4G and iPad. The third beta is still for testing only so stay away if you rely on your device or care for an unlock.
Redsn0w 0.9.7b2: fixes all the native app crashes (including Task switcher). This is the only change from the first beta that was released earlier today.
Redsn0w 0.9.7b3: This version extends the fix made in beta2 over to the non-GUI programs too (like the daemons that handle media content). So now embedded videos in iTunes work. Just follow the guide posted here to achieve the untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1.
Whether you're at the Christmas market, taking a winter walk or out skiing – you don't have to take off your gloves when you want to call your friends on your iPhone anymore. Now you can dial using your nose.
NoseDial isn't just a favorites list you can style individually. The app also shows you pictures of your friends and allows you to navigate through your contacts by tilting your iPhone and to then call them using your nose.
Forget special touchscreen gloves and iPhone input pens, just call using your nose. This saves money and is a lot more fun.

The corporate warfare between Activision Blizzard and Electronic Arts is getting hotter than a hand grenade.
Activision on Tuesday pulled EA into a lawsuit it had filed in April against two prominent game developers that Activision had fired in March. The developers, Jason West and Vincent Zampella, had created Activision's blockbuster Call of Duty franchise as heads of Infinity Ward, a studio Activision bought in 2003.
In the amended lawsuit, Activision names EA as a defendant, accusing the Redwood City, Calif., publisher of hatching a secret plot to "destabilize, disrupt and ... destroy Infinity Ward." The lawsuit accused EA of working through talent management firm Creative Artists Agency to "hijack" West and Zampella from Infinity Ward, based in Encino.
What started as a simple joke may now become a motion picture.
Electronic Arts is developing "Madden Curse," a sports comedy that incorporates the infamous jinx, believed to strike NFL players who appear on the cover of EA's popular "Madden" video game with injury or poor performance.
The story will follow a former Madden video game champion who is forced out of retirement just as he finds himself on the corner of the game's cover -- and subject to the curse.
Pat O'Brien, VP of EA Entertainment, is spearheading the project as one of its producers.
In the midst of the debate about EA's 99c App Store assault, one important viewpoint has been overlooked.
In other words, what would Steve Jobs do?
Personalisation aside, it's a valid question. When the biggest mobile publisher in the West cuts the price on most of its iOS back catalog, you'd think Apple would have an opinion. And that view has been made clear with the platform holder running banner ads on iTunes promoting EA's Games For The Holidays price cut.
According to MuscleNerd conversation which took place on his Twitter account, he declared about new features on the upcoming Redsn0w version which will not only allow to be an untethered jailbreak for all devices running iOS 4.2.1, but it will upgrade the devices which rely on tethered jailbreak to untethered one without restore, you will only need to use the new version of Redsn0w.
Remember the X'mas deadline is not a waiting game, but a feasible deadline :)
Earlier this year Nvidia Corp. merged chipset and system-on-chip development teams in order to strengthen the Tegra product line. On Thursday chief executive officer of Nvidia officially said that the company was no longer building chipsets, which probably means that the firm no longer orders appropriate chips from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company.
"We are not building any more chipsets, we are building SoCs now. We are building Tegra SoCs, and so we are going to take integration to a new level. [...] The chipset business [has] not grown largely this year because we have not really been expanding the sales of it," said Jen-Hsun Huang, chief executive officer of Nvidia.
It seems like whenever a holiday rolls around in the US, all of the major developers put their catalog of iOS games on sale in an effort to ride a wave of publicity into the top app charts. Electronic Arts is no stranger to this practice, and in observance of a very special holiday this Winter they have dropped a huge number of their games down to 99¢. Yes, that's right, EA is having a sale to celebrate forum moderator ImNoSuperMan's birthday. Just kidding. It's a Christmas sale. Or rather, a "Holiday" sale.

Word Lens is one of those apps that grabs your attention the first time you see it in action. Created by Quest Visual, It is an iPhone-based optical character recognition (OCR) application used for language translation. In real-world usage, it will translate a foreign language sign in an instant using your camera. Word Lens uses OCR to single out the letters in an image captured by your camera. It identifies letters, builds the words and looks them up in its built-in dictionary. Once the words are identified, translation from one language to another is easy.
In explaining the move, the company cited the delay of Deus Ex: Human Revolution as well as Final Fantasy XIV failing to achieve "the level of customer satisfaction that fans of our FINAL FANTASY franchise have come to expect." The delay of the PlayStation 3 version was also a factor, as it will almost certainly come out after the fiscal year ends in March 2011.
The investment in Caustic Graphics will help Imagination Technologies – who provide the video chips used in the Apple iPhone and also own UK DAB specialists Pure Radio – to push the envelope of what is possible with mobile 3D graphics.
Caustic's mobile graphics tech is said to be capable of bringing cinema-quality 3D graphics to mobile phones.
The sources noted that Apple plans to launch at least four upgraded MacBook Pros as well as an iMac that features a new panel size and a price point for the mainstream market.
The sources believe that Apple should have no trouble achieving notebook shipments of 10 million units in 2010. The upgraded MacBook Pro notebooks will feature a slight change in chassis design and an upgrade to the new Lion operating system, which should help Apple's notebook shipments grow 30-40% on year in 2011.
Taiwan-based Quanta Computer and Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) are expected to share orders for the new devices, while Quanta will see its revenues contribution by Apple rise from 20% to 28-30% in 2011, the sources added.
Sony released its latest e-reader a few months back – the PRS-650BC (black) – which featured a 6-inch screen with an E Ink Pearl display that is also found in the latest version of the Kindle with a 600×800 resolution.Whilst it offered some respectable competition to Amazon’s creation, the above model had one major drawback and this was with the lack of wireless technology.
Without Wi-Fi or 3G in place you had to upload content via good old fashioned USB. However, at the time Sony were also deep into developing an iPhone and Android e-reader App, which will please fans as they won’t have such limitations anymore.
Although MobileMe is still down for maintenance for some users, we have managed to take a screenshot of the new login page that Apple will roll out for everyone later today, presumably together with the release of iOS 4.2 and 4.1 for the Apple TV. The change also comes ahead of Find My iPhone going free for all iOS 4.2 users on latest generation devices.
Apple today announced that iOS 4.2, the latest version of the world’s most advanced mobile operating system, is available today for download for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. iOS 4.2 brings over 100 new features from iOS 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2 to iPad including Multitasking, Folders, Unified Inbox, Game Center, AirPlay and AirPrint.
The 10.6.5 Update is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Snow Leopard and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac, including fixes that:
It's hard to believe that what we're looking at is real -- but we assure you, the picture above is in fact the PlayStation Phone you've long been waiting for. As we reported back in August, the device you see is headed into the market soon, likely boasting Android 3.0 (aka Gingerbread), along with a custom Sony Marketplace which will allow you to purchase and download games designed for the new platform. The device snapped up top (and in our gallery below) is sporting a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 (a chip similar to the one found in the G2, but 200MHz faster), 512MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM, and the screen is in the range of 3.7 to 4.1 inches. Looking almost identical to the mockup we hit you with this summer, the handset does indeed have a long touchpad in the center which is apparently multitouch, and you can see in the photos that it's still bearing those familiar PlayStation shoulder buttons. For Sony buffs, you'll be interested to know that there's no Memory Stick slot here, but there is support for microSD cards.
FolderEnhancer, a tweak to improve iOS folder capabilities, has been updated with support for iOS 4.1.
iOS 4 brought with it the ability to put apps and bookmarks into folders. Unfortunately, the implementation is quite limited. FolderEnhancer takes this feature and improves upon it, making it a viable solution for organizing and accessing your apps.
What's New in This Version:
● NEW: Added support for iOS 4.1.
● FIX: With "Close on App Launch" OFF, closing an app launched from a folder while the task switcher was visible would cause the folder to fail to reappear.
● FIX: With wallpaper off, toggling the task switcher would cause parent folders to become visible, appear stacked.
